Information and Rules

Lake Placid Camp & Conference Center came about through prayer, dedication and sacrifice. The entire facility has been dedicated to the Lord for your enjoyment and spiritual growth. Please use, but don’t abuse. Here is a list of rules and information. Make sure these are relayed to each guest of your group. You are welcome to copy this for your own handouts.
- LPCCC’s office phone number is (863) 465-2197. You may give this number to your group members; however, we are often out of the office assisting our guests. We have an answering machine and will relay messages to the group leader as we receive them. We suggest that the group leader carry a cell phone for contact to and from home.
- Cold drink machines are located in several areas. The snack shack will be open if requested and scheduled in advance by your group leader.
- The golf carts are for LPCCC staff only. Please stay off the golf carts. LPCCC will refer a golf cart rental company for your use. Call the LPCCC office for more information.
- Any damage such as graffiti, broken windows, damage to walls, damage to floors, etc. will be billed to your group. Please be sure to warn your guests to be careful. Our experience in camping has led us to conclude that shaving cream fights, toothpaste fights, silly string and items along these lines will not be permitted. Please also note that your group will be charged $500 for each fire extinguisher found discharged in your sleeping or meeting facilities.
- LPCCC will furnish wrist bands to each paying guest. These wrist bands must be worn at all times. Activities are scheduled for certain times. Make sure everyone knows your groups schedule. Recreation areas are off limits except during scheduled times due to multiple groups being on the property. Keep your wrist bands on – you must have them on to eat.
- Swim only in designated areas during pre-arranged times. Your group leader must provide our office with a copy of certification for a qualified lifeguard who will be on duty during all water activities.
- Sports equipment must be accounted for before your departure. You are responsible to make sure all equipment is kept in good condition and returned before you leave.
- Alcohol, illegal substances, firearms and other weapons are strictly prohibited. We prefer there be no smoking while here on the grounds. However, if you do smoke you must do it outside. Florida law prohibits smoking in any of our buildings.
- Absolutely no food, drinks, glitter, glue or duct tape in the meeting rooms, conference areas, worship areas or sleeping areas. We have outside areas with tables and lights for your snacks, crafts and drinks.
- Candles are prohibited in all buildings including but not limited to meeting, worship, conference and sleeping rooms. This is required by the Highlands County Florida Fire Marshall.
- Line up in front of the Litl Loj Dining Room at scheduled meal times. Your group leader will receive a phone call from our chefs concerning meal times for your group several days before your event. Please make sure everyone is aware of this time frame. If you want to be guaranteed food, be on time at your groups scheduled meal times. LPCCC ask for polite behavior while in the dinning areas.
- Everyone must wear LPCCC wrist bands to all meals in order to be served. Please ask all guests to have their identification ready to be checked at the door. Any participant that has lost or destroyed his or her wristband must be accompanied by the group leader to discuss replacement. Extra guests or day guests may purchase single meal tickets with advance notice.
- No males in female sleeping quarters. No females in male sleeping quarters.
- Christian courtesy should be practiced towards others sharing the grounds; such as lights out and quiet by eleven pm. Loud music is not permitted. If music can be heard outside of building, it is too loud.
